NSM Course Update:
It has been a fantastic ski season so far with 10 full weeks of great skiing. Overall, snowfall is currently less than we normally get, but the skiing has still been great. Our race course is in ideal condition from the Dead River Basin down to Forestville and is ready for a race. The Dead River basin has 11 inches of ice on it and is fully covered with snow. Ishpeming has good snow coverage. The ponds near Marquette have been too soft to groom so far this year, so we do need some cold weather. As always, we have some rugged terrain in the western end of the full marathon course that might need a little more snow in some key areas to smooth out. I plan to get out over the entire course over the next week and will be able to give a better assessment on where we stand for a full marathon. 4-8 inches of new, wet, snow is in the forecast for tonight and tomorrow.
